Luca Bonini became CEO of Italpollina in 2001 and continues the legacy of the company’s founding values — quality, passion, innovation, and respect for nature. His perspective on innovation comes from an uncommon commitment to research and the resulting new technologies for sustainable agriculture. Throughout his tenure, Luca has given high priority to increasing the international distribution of products, now present in 80 countries with 14 commercial offices, three R&D centers and five manufacturing facilities around the world. A leader in the sector, Italpollina is the world’s largest producer of 100% vegetal-based biostimulants for use in agriculture. In 2014, Luca was elected as the first president of the European Consortium of Organic Based Fertilizers Industry (ECOFI) and remains Honorary President. In 2016, he was appointed “Officier du Merite Agricole” by the French Government – an honor that is of the second most important in France and given to people strongly committed to the development of agriculture. In 2017, he was elected Director-at-Large of the European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC), and in 2018 he was elected President for a term through 2020. He currently serves on the board of AgriNovus Indiana and strongly supports many other industry associations worldwide.
